Need looduspärased erinevused võivad ilmneda kromosoomides, anatoomias ja/või hormoonides. Kuigi intersoolised inimesed moodustavad mõnede hinnangute kohaselt ligi 2% elanikkonnast, puudub selle kehalise mitmekesisuse suhtes laiem teadlikkus ja mõistmine. Intersoolised inimesed peavad sageli varases eas läbima meditsiinilisi protseduure, mis ei ole tehtud nende nõusolekul ja mille eesmärk on nende keha “normaliseerimine”. Intersex people are born with variations in sex characteristics that sit outside the male-female binary. These natural differences can be seen in chromosomes, anatomy, and/or hormones. Intersex people are often subject to early life, non-consensual medical procedures meant to "normalize" their bodies. While Intersex people make up nearly 2% of the population by some estimates, awareness and acceptance of this bodily diversity is lacking, and there are no explicit protections in Estonia for Intersex people against discrimination or forced medical intervention.

Intersex Awareness Day was October 26, and Intersex Day of Remembrance is November 8. As we close out this season of reflection and solidarity with intersex people around the world, join us to learn about the intersex community and watch the intersex short film “As Common As Red Hair” @commonasredhairmovie.

We will also be unveiling new intersex resources available in Estonian and Russian, produced with the support of @interact_adv, and raising money to support future resource printing and distribution.

Once again Vikerlased opens up our rehearsal space to allow you to witness some magic - experience a 4-course tasting menu of choir singing as Vikerlased are joined by their dear friends from across the pond from Finland.

You will be served some tasty and mind blowing acapella from the Friends of Dorothy, witty and saucy tunes from HQFK, and rainbow sprouting bangers from Out ’n Loud.

The main event will be in Helsinki 30/11 but if you can not come to Finland, we are giving you a pre taste at this open rehearsal.

Veebruaris 2022 oma muusikalist teekonda alustanud Feel Hope 🚀 seob energilise hardcore'i sotsiaalsete ja eksistentsiaalsete teemadega, olles mõjutatud bändidest nagu Terror ja Turnstile. Hiljuti ilmus nende uus singel „The Fear That Love Could Have Died“.

Elu mõjutab kunsti ja vastupidi – „Videviku” saaga järel sai rohkem lapsi oma nimeks Edward või Bella; turistide hordid on trööbanud nii „Sõrmuste isanda” kui ka „Tähesõdade” võttepaikasid; rääkimata sellest, et filmid on mõjutanud nii seadusandlust kui karjäärivalikuid. „Esindatus loeb!” kinnitavad kultuurisõdalased.

Erinevate vähemuste esindatus on paljude kaasaegsete arutelude keskmes, sest jagatud ruum nõuab pidevaid läbirääkimisi. Ajalooliselt on soo- ja seksuaalvähemused saanud ekraaniaega just hirmuäratavate kollide, mõrtsukate ja muudmoodi kaabakatena. Sellele vastuseisuks on aeg-ajalt sündinud kväärtegelasi, kes on haletsusväärselt traagilised või siis just liiga heal elujärjel.

Mulle tundub, et ringiga oleme esindatusega tagasi jõudnud kohta, kus publik oskab taas mõista ja nautida kväärituid tõpraid, kes panevad kajama inimlikkuse tumedamaid – ja seega mõnikord lõbusamaid – noote.

Life has an impact on art and vice versa – in the wake of the ‘Twilight’ saga, more children were named Edward or Bella; hordes of tourists have littered the filming locations of both ‘Lord of the Rings’ and ‘Star Wars’; not to mention that films have influenced both legislation and career choices. “Representation matters!” say the culture warriors.

The issue of representation is at the heart of a lot of debates, with shared space requiring constant negotiation. Historically, gender and sexual minorities have been given screen time as scary monsters, murderers and other such villains. To counter this, there have been the occasional queer characters who are pathetically tragic or sometimes just too well off.

It seems to me however that we have come full circle with representation. Back to a place where audiences can once again understand and enjoy queer heroes who play the darker – and therefore more amusing – notes of humanity.

- All levels are welcome.
- There will be no coaching but rather a social, friendly and supportive setting to try out new things and learn from each other.

- Climbing shoes can also be rented if you don't own a pair.
- There are dressing rooms, showers and sauna facilities available in T1. The dressing rooms are gendered.

Kui sa varem pole käinud, siis sellest pole midagi ja oled väga oodatud.

Lugemisklubi on inimestele, kes armastavad lugemist. Kellele meeldib lugeda. Kes otsivad tagasiteed lugemise juurde. Kes tahavad enda ümber inimesi, kes ka loevad. Kes soovivad jagada oma mõtteid ja tundeid selle kohta, mida nad on lugenud. Või veel ei soovi jagada, aga tahaks ikkagi osa saada teiste mõtetest.

Lugemisklubi on osalejate ühine looming - ühiselt valime teemasid, tekste, raamatuid. Valime, mida ja kuidas teeme. Igaühel on hääl ja igaüks saab sõna, kes soovib. Võib ka täitsa tasa olla.

Lugemisklubi on avatud kõigile, sõltumata soost, vanusest, haridusest, maailmavaatest ja muust. On paar eeltingimust - lugemisklubi toimub eesti keeles ja iga osaleja ülesanne on üksteise suhtes käituda turvaliselt.

Lugemisklubi kohtub kord kuus teisipäeviti, konkreetse kuupäeva lepime iga kord kokku. Kohtumine kestab kuni 2 tundi. Võid soovi korral kaasa haarata mõnusaid suupisteid ja kindlalt mõne raamatu, mis sulle oluline.

Lugemisklubi veab Helen Talalaev, kunagine LGBT ühingu juht, täna Eesti Inimõiguste Keskuses mitmekesisuse ja kaasatuse juht. Lisaks sadadele loetud raamatutele on Helen õppinud kirjandust Tartu ülikoolis ja Kesk-Euroopa Ülikoolis.
